P4You makes Elearning easy to understand

For those unfamiliar with computer-based training and e-Learning, getting to grips with an e-Learning environment for the first time might seem like a daunting task. In its simplest form, any e-Learning environment requires two fundamental components: one to manage your training courses and learners, and the other to create the training courses themselves.

The first component is the Learning Management System (LMS)

A learning management system (or LMS) is the environment in which students can register and login to their own personalised area, allowing them to view the training courses that are available for them and to and monitor their own progress. The administrative aspect of the LMS allows tutors or training managers to see which of their learners have started which courses, and to obtain reports detailing aspects of e-Learning such as the pass rates for questions and courses or the length of time students have spent on a particular training course. At a more detailed level, tutors should be able to see their students’ individual answers and collect coursework.

Developed over a number of years, P4You’s Learning Management System, LearnTrack, provides all of these functions and more in one cost-effective and easy-to-use package which can be fully customised to meet your bespoke training needs. The second element is the Content Authoring Tool

A content authoring tool, such as P4You’s award-winning Elicitus package is used to create the e-Learning course content which forms the training course. Using a content authoring tool allows the trainer to assemble various elements of interactive training content such as text, pictures, diagrams, animations, voice, video, quizzes, tests and assessments and create a fully featured bespoke training course. The course content may need to be reviewed and revised before it is ready, but once the course content is finished the author can upload it into the LMS environment and make it available to the training administrators. From here the training administrators will be able to see the finished training and allocate it to their students or mark it for self-allocation. Allocated content is then available for use.
